Best (and second best) award ever

I got another award the other day. This one rocks because it's from not only one of my fave blogger/twitterers, but also because it's her actual personal, made it herself award.

It's from Morgan from The818

It's the Somebody in the 818 Loves Me award. To be honest I already knew that some folks loved me in the 818 but they are different somebodies.

My other awesome award was also from Morgan...it was given to me couple weeks back.

Yeah I realize I had a typo in there but my favorite copywriters can't spell well.

And usually awards come with some things you're supposed to share and blogs you're supposed to link to...but I did that earlier this week so check out Morgan's post about the award to find some great blogs.

  1. your tweet reminds me of a coffee cup i received as a gift once that read, "i'm not opinionated, i'm just always right." i took it as a compliment. they clearly understood that my point of view is consistently valuable...

congrats on your new button! cheers!

  2. If anyone follows that link to my blog, they will find that I posted a misspelled tweet of my own (unrelated.)

Twitter, it's time you added spell check.

    Kenny, you rule.

Giveaway Gear Thursday: Paper Culture ($25 coupon code)

Gear Thursday is back this week with a giveaway from a great company called Paper Culture and I'm giving away $25 coupon codes to two different winners. I found Paper Culture on my search for some really well designed birth announcements. Being a designer I probably should have designed them myself but the chaos of a new baby made that impossible. When I saw their announcements I was psyched...we ordered the one below. We were super happy we went with them over some of the other places we've found. A few reasons for that...their designs are great and pretty much the style I would have designed, they are printed on really nice stock (a matte 130lb thick paper), the cards have rounded corners which makes them look nicer and real people lay out your cards. That last one was kind of important to me. You plug in your info and a designer lays it out and sends you a proof in a couple days. You can OK it, make a change or decide not to go with it...there is no obligation. Everyon...

You were wrong Mr. Smith...boys do cry

yeah I'm re-using a pic but it works so well Here's a little story that has laughter, a hell of a lot of tears and a happy ending. It's basically like Shrek and should therefore be picked up by Pixar. If you are from there please contact me so we can work together. The story is about how we got putting Miloh to sleep. It starts with with an earlier pos t called Sweet Child O Mine. A post that talks about how I started going insane while trying to put him to sleep when he was a month old. Once we got over that hump it was smooth sailing. With the help of a twitter mom (thanks Mae) we came up with a great routine of bath, bottle then sleep, while we switched who put him to sleep every other night. Then something would happen...we'd bath him, give him the bottle, comfort him until a bit sleepy and then put him in his bed. The second the he hit the mattress he would start wailing...it wasn't fun...not at all. Staci and I had theories...mine was teething w...

Dear Scott the Paleontologist – the response... Wait sorry... the awesome response

In my last post I asked some incredibly pressing questions to Dr. Scott Sampson aka Scott the Paleontologist. Questions that any parent of a Dinosaur Train fan wants to know... I got a reply and I have to say Dr. Scott is hilarious and pretty awesome... But I'm a fan of science humor... So here are his responses in line with mine. They're in blue because that's the color of most of  Shiny Pteranodon. Dear Scott the Paleontologist, My son Miloh and I are fans of Dinosaur Train and as an avid fan I have some questions regarding it that I hope you can answer: The train is a steam engine. Does it run off coal? If it does use coal is there a possibility that greenhouse gases from that could have lead to the extinction of dinosaurs? How come this isn't a theory? Very interesting question. Yes, to the best of my knowledge, the Dinosaur Train runs on fossil fuels, but we actually do have an episode upcoming where we investigate alternative fuel trains. Given that ...
