I wanted to get this out today but to be honest I'm a bit tired...so I 'm hoping there are no typos. Here is Miloh's first month in numbers. You can click the image to see it larger.

  1. This is adorable. Also? Astonishing that you're managing to keep anything resembling a remotely accurate count of any of these.

  2. I *love* your week/month in numbers graphics and Mommy is totally jealous that she is not crafty like that and can't make a few for me!

  4. thanks...yeah I design these myself.

The count is kind of easy because at first when we needed to keep track of Miloh's eating because of jaundice from Staci's Gestational diabetes...now we continue to keep a record...it's not perfect but pretty close.

And I geek out a bit on info presented like this so that's why I do it...hopefully more representations in the coming month...it takes longer than I thought to do these.

  6. Thanks all.

Giveaway Gear Thursday: Paper Culture ($25 coupon code)

Gear Thursday is back this week with a giveaway from a great company called Paper Culture and I'm giving away $25 coupon codes to two different winners. I found Paper Culture on my search for some really well designed birth announcements. Being a designer I probably should have designed them myself but the chaos of a new baby made that impossible. When I saw their announcements I was psyched...we ordered the one below. We were super happy we went with them over some of the other places we've found. A few reasons for that...their designs are great and pretty much the style I would have designed, they are printed on really nice stock (a matte 130lb thick paper), the cards have rounded corners which makes them look nicer and real people lay out your cards. That last one was kind of important to me. You plug in your info and a designer lays it out and sends you a proof in a couple days. You can OK it, make a change or decide not to go with it...there is no obligation. Everyon...

You were wrong Mr. Smith...boys do cry

yeah I'm re-using a pic but it works so well Here's a little story that has laughter, a hell of a lot of tears and a happy ending. It's basically like Shrek and should therefore be picked up by Pixar. If you are from there please contact me so we can work together. The story is about how we got putting Miloh to sleep. It starts with with an earlier pos t called Sweet Child O Mine. A post that talks about how I started going insane while trying to put him to sleep when he was a month old. Once we got over that hump it was smooth sailing. With the help of a twitter mom (thanks Mae) we came up with a great routine of bath, bottle then sleep, while we switched who put him to sleep every other night. Then something would happen...we'd bath him, give him the bottle, comfort him until a bit sleepy and then put him in his bed. The second the he hit the mattress he would start wailing...it wasn't fun...not at all. Staci and I had theories...mine was teething w...

Dear Scott the Paleontologist – the response... Wait sorry... the awesome response

In my last post I asked some incredibly pressing questions to Dr. Scott Sampson aka Scott the Paleontologist. Questions that any parent of a Dinosaur Train fan wants to know... I got a reply and I have to say Dr. Scott is hilarious and pretty awesome... But I'm a fan of science humor... So here are his responses in line with mine. They're in blue because that's the color of most of  Shiny Pteranodon. Dear Scott the Paleontologist, My son Miloh and I are fans of Dinosaur Train and as an avid fan I have some questions regarding it that I hope you can answer: The train is a steam engine. Does it run off coal? If it does use coal is there a possibility that greenhouse gases from that could have lead to the extinction of dinosaurs? How come this isn't a theory? Very interesting question. Yes, to the best of my knowledge, the Dinosaur Train runs on fossil fuels, but we actually do have an episode upcoming where we investigate alternative fuel trains. Given that ...
