Move over Sal Masekela you have some competition

I was going to write an acutal post... One that actually mentions the scene in this video... But it's so much easier to just put up a video and feel like I did something and push any real work til later.

Here's the deal... I've mentioned it before but MF loves watching this one Danny MacAskill video out there... Sometimes in the morning he'll point to the computer and say "bike". Then I say no because we don't want him in front of a screen all the time.

Then he says "bike" again and I give in because A) he's cute and B) I'm brainwashing him into liking bikes...

So today I took a video of him watching and doing commentary... He'll be taking Sal Masekela's job any day now.

Also not sure why any of you would want to watch this because it's five and a half minutes long...

Best parts are in the beginning where he sees Danny's shoes while he pulls a street sign out of the ground... He says daddy but in the past when I've asked if it's daddy riding the bike he says "no, no, no". So basically he things I have the skills to vandalize but not ride a bike.

Other nice part is at 2:21 when he gives a little commentary he's never given before.

That is adorable. The kid. Not the biker. That is crazy. The part where he's riding on the top of the fence posts? Dude.

Another guest post

I did a little guest post a bit ago for mom-nom.com, the post is below the original pre-amble.

If you head to Mom-nom.com you can see a little guest post I wrote. It's about being a daddy blogger in the midst of a bunch of mommy bloggers.

The post is kicking off Tiffany's new site. It used to be called Feels Like Home but then some other blogger felt that she owned the name because she was thinking about to registering the name...even though really the name comes from a song. And I think it's pretty ridiculous that the other woman threatened a law suit because of this.

And that BS and some other twitter high school antics lead me to one of my greatest literary feats...a little rant on twitter.

The image is below, if you click on it you can read the whole thing...it goes from the bottom up. A little warning if you read it...there may be an f-bomb or 20...and now it's in the Library of Congress...awesome.

My hundredth post: seriously a clips post?

In my last post I mentioned I was working on getting some celebs for this post. I was in talks with the quarterback of the Saints whatever his name is...I'm sure I could look it up. I was also trying to get Conan...those talks were going really well but then NBC squashed it. There were more but the moral is it's just me.

So I thought I'd do a clips post to show my journey from dude who was scared of kids to dad. If you're new to my blog this will be a CliffsNotes version of what you missed. If you've been checking it out for awhile think of this as a best of. And since a blog can't work like a TV show if you want to get the full clip show experience you'll have to click through to the posts...but this will give you the gist.

In the beginning...Staci and I wanted to have a child but we both had totally different experience with kids. Kids have always been magically attracted to her...which is probably why she is so great at her career as a Montessori teacher…

Gear Thursday: finally my post on the floor bed

Okay...I promised a post on our floor bed and the whole deal with floor beds in general. Honestly right now as I start this post I don't know a ton about them. Staci does because friends of her's have used them and she read the book Montessori from the Start...plus it follows tenets of the Montessori philosophy which she teaches. I've absorbed some of the info from her and such but we'll learn together as I wade through some websites.

That all being the case think of this as a Cliffs Notes version of floor beds...and I have learned from experience that teaches are correct that you can't pass the test by reading the Cliffs Notes alone.

It's easy to explain what it is...just a crib mattress on the floor. You can add a floor bed frame, which is a 3 sided wood frame, but people we've talked to see them as a waste and a place for shins to bang into. You also need to set up the room so it's a completely safe place...every thing at reach is age appropriate...…
