Random shorts

One:
Miloh hates the sound of velcro...he winces every time he hears it when we open his sleep sack or a diaper bag. 

Two:
My favorite thing he's doing right now is grabbing my finger while I feed him. He holds on so tight that his fingertips turn white...but of course it's a kind of soft grip. I love it.

I also like that when he wiggles he often makes a fist and kind of punches. He finally connected a few yesterday.

Three: 
Staci's favorite thing is that she can burp him by just rubbing his back instead of patting it...and she love that when she does this he lays his head right in the crook of her neck.

She also loves that he recognizes her...it's actually really cool that he recognizes us and our voices.

Four:
I got nothing for four.

Five:
Before Miloh was born I heard someone say "he's not as wrinkly as he was a week ago." I'm not sure of the context, it could have been TV, a tweet or a friend. But it's true about Miloh. I wish I had a picture to go along with that but I haven't taken photos in a few days...and that bums me out.

Six: 
We finally figured out the sleep thing. if you remember my Sweet Child O' Mine post we were having trouble a bit ago. I truly think my paradigm/stress level/attitude shift helped him calm down, but we also learned he has acid reflus so he's on meds for that. Plus we have a new routine that maybe I'll post about soon...but the gist is we now know how to get him to bed before he's over tires which for some reason makes him unable to sleep.

Seven:
Until yesterday either Staci or I would sleep in Miloh's room when it was our time on duty. Now we have a video and audio monitor on while we're downstairs or asleep etc. It's a bit freaky not being with him.

    I love it when my little one puts her head in the crook of my neck and when she breathes so close to my ear, well that makes me smile! Sounds like Milo is doing great!

    Enjoy all the snuggling now. My daughter is 7 months old and getting a cuddle from her is impossible. She's too busy checking everything out.

    very sweet! amazing how much personality they get so early in the game. seems like you're pretty comfortable in your new role as a papa! i love that you're actually aware of thing like how staci burps miloh. lovely little family! cheers!

You were wrong Mr. Smith...boys do cry

yeah I'm re-using a pic but it works so well Here's a little story that has laughter, a hell of a lot of tears and a happy ending. It's basically like Shrek and should therefore be picked up by Pixar. If you are from there please contact me so we can work together. The story is about how we got putting Miloh to sleep. It starts with with an earlier pos t called Sweet Child O Mine. A post that talks about how I started going insane while trying to put him to sleep when he was a month old. Once we got over that hump it was smooth sailing. With the help of a twitter mom (thanks Mae) we came up with a great routine of bath, bottle then sleep, while we switched who put him to sleep every other night. Then something would happen...we'd bath him, give him the bottle, comfort him until a bit sleepy and then put him in his bed. Dear Scott the Paleontologist – the response... Wait sorry... the awesome response

In my last post I asked some incredibly pressing questions to Dr. Scott Sampson aka Scott the Paleontologist. Questions that any parent of a Dinosaur Train fan wants to know... I got a reply and I have to say Dr. Scott is hilarious and pretty awesome... But I'm a fan of science humor... So here are his responses in line with mine. They're in blue because that's the color of most of  Shiny Pteranodon. Dear Scott the Paleontologist, My son Miloh and I are fans of Dinosaur Train and as an avid fan I have some questions regarding it that I hope you can answer: The train is a steam engine. Does it run off coal? If it does use coal is there a possibility that greenhouse gases from that could have lead to the extinction of dinosaurs? How come this isn't a theory? Very interesting question. Yes, to the best of my knowledge, the Dinosaur Train runs on fossil fuels, but we actually do have an episode upcoming where we investigate alternative fuel trains.
